A Charity Artwork Created by 100 Displaced Ukrainian Children and Ukrainian Artist Mariya Dykalo, in Support of St Mary's Ukrainian School in London.
Hopes & Dreams
The artwork created is a powerful tapestry of these dreams. Each child's drawing has been woven into a striking collage, set against a backdrop of a blue planet with a glowing yellow orb - the colours of the Ukrainian flag. This is more than just a piece of art; it is a collective voice, a statement of hope from children who refuse to let war define them.
Unveiled on International Children's Day, We Can Dream Again is a tribute to their strength and a symbol of resilience. It also honours the incredible work of St Mary's Ukrainian School, which provides a safe space for displaced children to heal, learn, and most importantly-to dream again.
Our art sessions focused on looking beyond the darkness of war and into the future on what brings them joy and the dreams they still hold. Some dream of becoming footballers, Olympic gymnasts, pop stars, or designers. But above all, their greatest wish is to return home to embrace their families, see their pets, and step back into the lives they were forced to leave behind.
This project is incredibly close to my heart. It is more than just an artwork, it is a mirror of these children's dreams. A reminder to them, and to the world, that hope is always worth holding onto.”
