the lavish images of Slim Aarons, an American photographer behind
some of the 20th century's most candid photography. In an array of
unique styles, colours and textures, the collection delivers a
captivating cocktail of playful energy and laissez-faire
sophistication.
Aarons was celebrated for his ability to move with ease through
society's most exclusive circles, capturing intimate snapshots of
the beau monde at play. The collection's creative centre
encapsulates Aarons' description of his work - "Attractive
people doing attractive things in attractive places" - by
capturing informal, sun-soaked moments by the pool.
Through new and already iconic designs, Aspinal invites the
wearer to the summer's most exclusive parties, alongside the 'it'
boys and girls of 60s and 70s glossy magazines. Relaxed yet
sophisticated, a palette of Mustard, Black, White, Navy and Ivory
reflect the hues most prevalent in Aarons' work, from the bright
white villas of beachfront compounds to the sunny yellow clothing,
deckchairs and parasols so loved by their owners.
A refreshing splash of Pool Blue playfully offsets the palette,
evoking the carefree lifestyles of jet-set utopia and the intimate
oases enjoyed by its members. The palette is showcased in pebble,
smooth, lizard and croc finishes, as well as a new, sustainably
created monogram print.
