It's that time of year again, when the world's most influential fashion designers and brands descend upon the capital for London Fashion Week. Whether you're a first timer or a veteran, you need to plan accordingly, so from ticketing to what to wear, we've got a host of tips that will help you make the most of the year's most stylish week.
Tickets & Accreditation
Bear in mind that London Fashion Week, which runs from 15th - 19th September, is a trade only event, meaning it's open to only press and buyers. For everyone else, the fun starts during London Fashion Week Festival, which runs from 21st to 24th September.
Make sure to grab your tickets, upgrades or packages in advance, as it can become complicated picking up tickets as the event draws closer. Alongside access to over 150 outlets, you can buy tickets for curated events by some of the world's biggest designers.
Timing your RSVP's for guest lists for the best presentations and catwalk shows is the key to getting accepted. Top Tip: taking the time to personally email contacts found on the LFW website could land you tickets and an audience with some of the industry's finest minds.
What do you wear? As if it wasn’t hard enough already.
Try not to stress too much. While that's easier said than done, and everybody will be judging what everyone else is wearing, this is the best time to experiment and try alternative takes on classic looks. Why not try mixing contemporary and vintage fashion? No doubt you'll spy plenty of new looks and gather inspiration for your autumn and winter wardrobe.
The most important thing is to stay comfortable. We'd sway towards flats rather than heels as you'll be doing a lot of walking, and the last thing you want is a load of discomfort.
A layered approach to your outfit is an excellent way to stay flexible - if you get to hot just pop a layer off. This means you can shake-up your outfit throughout the day too.
Nothing will make your week easier than just being prepared.
With dozens of events on every day, between the ones you're going to and all the shopping opportunities you'll have at your fingertips, you can quickly get a bit lost and flustered. You'll be extra lost if phone dies! It's game over at that point. Plus, how are your Instagram followers going to keep up if you can't keep snapping?
Here are a few survival tips that'll keep you looking great, feeling fresh and ready to make the most of having the hottest ticket in town.
