Struggling to keep to your luggage allowance? Unsure whether you should pack heels or flip flops? Fear not, we've got your holiday packing questions covered as we catch up with Very Exclusive Buyer, Ruby Beales.
What is the inspiration behind each of the outfits?
I tend to be a bit of a tomboy day-to-day so when it's hot and I have a tan I like to wear feminine, floaty dresses or more pastel colours.
Star Mela's embroidered dresses and kaftans are fantastic to pop in your case as they are lightweight and made from cotton (so you stay cool). They are also very chic and totally wearable for a beach-side lunch.
In terms of bags, I try and stick to one foldable canvas beach bag and then three other more 'serious' bag shapes. A clutch which can also double as a cross body, such as Aspinal of London's Soho Pouch is a must. Anyone who knows me knows I love a red accessory so this is an all year round winner for me.
An unlined, lightweight tote which can double as your flight bag will also come in handy and I love the natural leather of Aspinal's Essential Tote which goes with anything. Oh and one more bag to add a little novelty, the Mini Trunk Clutch in Smooth Black with Patches, so much fun for when you travel.
I love sunglasses and have collected all shapes, sizes and colours over the years. I will wear the red cat-eye pair from Dolce in the evenings but will take some fun styles from Quay Australia for the beach; they look fab and are also a great price point so I can change things up without breaking the bank.
It's taken me a while but I have learnt not to bother packing high heels for a hot holiday as they do not even make it out of the case. Castaner is the best of the best in terms of Espadrilles, so I will pack two pairs, a mid height and lower high which will cover all bases. For the day, chic bow flats from Miista and some fun tie up sandals from Mabu by Maria BK will add some fun to any outfit.
What clothing items should everyone pack on their holiday?
Espadrilles, a pareo which can be used as a scarf on the plane, a sarong/kaftan and a chic sun hat (to protect your exhausted hair!)
